FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS - FAQ's

WHEN DOES THE SOCCER SEASON BEGIN?
ECSA follows the North Carolina Soccer Association (NCYSA) schedule for Fall (September - November) and Spring (March - May) seasons.   In addition to outdoor seasons, ECSA organizes through its member clubs and associations an indoor season that takes place in December and January.  Registration for the Fall season is the 1st two Saturdays in August, while Spring registration takes place on the 1st two Saturdays in February.

WHERE SHOULD MY CHILD PLAY?
A player may play for any club/association within ECSA.  Parents should take into consideration where they live, where children go to school, etc., and select a program that will fit the needs of both the parents and players.

WHAT DOES IT COST TO REGISTER MY CHILD TO PLAY?
Cost will depend on the club that you choose to play with.  Cost will also depend on the players age, as many clubs charge different registration fees for different ages and programs (micro/spark, recreation or challenge).

WHEN ARE CHALLENGE TRY-OUTS HELD?
Challenge Try-Outs are coordinated by the sponsoring club and the coach holding the try-out.  Most try-outs are held in the May/June time frame after Classic try-outs are held.  A coach may have tryouts at a different time during the year to fill roster positions for players that have left the team.  All try-out information is published in the Daily News (Sports Section).
